We all know, especially is you are a mum or dad, that using the expression cheese! is not working anymore in this digital era, when we take hundreds (ok, let`s be honest, thousands) of photos of our kids.
Do not worry, I have some tips and tricks to help you get that beautiful smile of your little ones that you see so many times every day, but they do not do it when you are ready to capture it ;).
Todos sabemos, especialmente si sos un padre, que usar la expresión "queso" ya no funciona en esta era digital, dónde sacamos cientos (bueno, seamos honestos, miles) de fotos de nuestros niños.
No te preocupes, hoy te traigo algunos tips y trucos para ayudarte a capturar esa hermosa sonrisa de tus niños que ves muchas veces por día pero que no la hacen cuando estas lista/o para capturarla ;).
If you want to make smile a baby, use silly sounds, or pretend a exaggerated sneeze (I do not why but this always work for me) or words with the sound SH. As last resource a Peek-a-boo is an infallible one.
Si quieres hacer sonreír a un bebé, haz sonidos graciosos (como pedorretas), o un estornudo exagerado "achús" (no sé porque pero este siempre funciona para mí, o palabras con el sonido CH (el trabalenguas de Maria Chucena es un top en mi repertorio). Cómo último recurso jugar a ¿dónde está el bebé? es infalible.
On the other hand, if you want to make smile a toddler or older kid, especially when they are in that stage with that "special photo smile", if you are a parent, you know which one I mean, yes that one, that they show all their teeth and if possible also their gum, here some tricks.
Por otro lado, si querés hacer reír a un niño/a más grande, especialmente si están en esa etapa con esa "sonrisa especial de foto", sí sos un padre estoy segura que sabes a la que me refiero, sí esa misma dónde muestra todos sus dientes y si es possible la encía, acá van algunos trucos.
Prepare your camera, and when you are ready, mispronounce words or numbers, for example: ok, when I count 3 I will take the photo, ready?, one, two... five. Or ask them to say naughty words: poo poo generally works.
Prepará tu cámara, y cuando estés listo/a, pronuncia mal algunas palabras o números, por ejemplo: ok, cuando cuente hasta tres voy a sacar la foto, ¿listos?, uno, dos... cinco. O pedirle que digan algunas palabras graciosas: caca generalmente funciona.
Ask them to do a special smile, for example: can I see your dinosaur smile? what about your monkey one? and your princess smile? Always compliment them after they do it, and get multiple photos before and after they do the required grin as usually those are the moments when they are more fun and have that natural curve of lips.
Indícales que hagan alguna sonrisa especial, por ejemplo: ¿puedo ver tu sonrisa de dinosaurio? ¿y la de mono? ¿me mostrarías tu sonrisa de princesa?. Siempre, elógialos después de las mismas, y haz múltiples fotos antes y después de las muecas requeridas ya que generalmente son esos los momentos dónde se muestran más naturalmente divertidos.
If models are older you can always ask them to not smile, and of course they will laugh, because we all know reverse psychology science.
Si los niños son más grandes, incítalos a no sonreír, y por supuesto ellos lo harán, porque el principio de la ciencia de la psicología inversa.
Finally, if nothing else works, get the plan B: BUBBLES, yes, we all love bubbles and you can get the best giggles with it ;).
Finalmente, si nada más funciona, usa el plan B: BURBUJAS, sí, todos amamos esas bolas de jabón y podes obtener las mejores risitas con ellas.
And remember, one of the characteristics that make kids more unique (and so funny) is their variety of expression, so do not worry if they do not smile in front of the camera, record them while with their surprise, angry, silly face... they will cherish these memories even if they are not showing a beam.
Recuerda, una de las características que hace a los niños único (y tan divertidos) es la variedad de expresiones que poseen, así que no te preocupes si no sonríen delante de la cámara, fotografíalos con su cara de sorpresa, enojados, haciendo tonterías... ellos apreciarán estas memorias incluso aunque no hayan salido mostrando su sonrisa más radiante.
